Another "passion" of Tate's

Tate is lately really into golfing. He wants to golf every day. Sean is thrilled with this of course! And I know I may be a bit biased, but honestly, he is pretty good for a 2 year old. He keeps his eye on the ball and hardly wiffs at all! He knows how to tap it lightly like he's putting and also do a full on swing like he's teeing off.
Look at that stance...Sean worked with him for a couple minutes several days ago...the rest is all just imitating Sean golfing. He's quite serious about it too!

My camera was literally dying as I took this video, so I didn't get a chance to video more than just this little putt he did...I'll have to get more video later. The only problem we need to address now is the fact that he won't use any club but the "purple club" which happens to be the driver. As you can see, he even putts with the driver.

Sunday

We had a good day today. We did some things around the house, we ran some errands and went to Chris and Brenda's where they made a delicious roast and potato dinner for us and Tate and Bode hung out. Tate asks to "go see Bode" every single day at least once. He was so happy to go over and play with him. Bode had his "Grave Digger" car out and took Tate for a short ride. Tate didn't want to do it for long...he was a little nervous.

Then the boys rested in Chris and Brenda's bed and watched some of the Incredibles.

Tate never wants to leave Chris and Brenda's house...he loves spending time over there and playing with Bode. We will miss them so much when they move to Florida.

A day in our pj's...

Like I had mentioned before...we didn't get out of our pj's at all on Saturday. It was great!

Tate did some work on his beloved computer...

Daddy and Tate had "tickle time"...

And I took pictures.

Yup, it was an exciting day!

Lazy Day

None of us ever got out of our pj's today. Seriously, it was fabulous. It was just a lazy day with lots of playing. We watched the movie Tarzan with Tate, we played cars, basketball, tools and Tate took a 3 1/2 hour nap. While he napped, I did too. Sean had to go in and wake him up...he probably would have slept for another hour if we let him. It was just one of those days. I made a huge amount of homemade salsa and we ate almost all of it. We all need showers...we'll get on that tomorrow. :)

TGIF

This week was crazy and stressful! I am so glad it's almost over. I am ready for a low key weekend. We have nothing planned (besides hanging out with Morris's tonight) and I am just fine with that. Sean's got much studying to do and I have much laundry and cleaning to do. And possible snow this weekend?!?!?! What's up with that?!?!? Ugh. I hope this weekend goes by sloooowwwllllyyyyyyy...but I know it won't. :(

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Maybe I'll actually take some pictures this weekend that I can post!

Computer Genius

Not a lot to post. It's been a busy week. We had a bad day today. I won't elaborate, but it was a disappointing day. I just haven't been in the blogging mood I guess.

In other news, Tate has become recently obsessed with his new laptop that we got because he fell in love with Ava's pink laptop in Davenport last weekend. His is orange just like Mommy and Daddy's. He plays with it all the time and I love it because it's made him learn how to identify all the letters in the alphabet. It's just amazing how children's brains are such sponges! He talks up a storm and we are now able to understand nearly everything he says. It's like he's growing up right before our eyes. He's such a sweet boy and also seems to be more obedient lately. He had a rough go at it in the obeying category for a while and we're hoping that has passed. Although, I'm not going to cross my fingers yet!

Thank you DeCooks!

We had SUCH A WONDERFUL weekend with our friends in the Quad Cities!!! They were fabulous hosts and we were so comfortable (and well fed!) all weekend! We enjoyed the nice weather outside on Saturday and grilled and had fun playing games in the evening after the kids were in bed. Tate and Ava were absolutely adorable playing together. They shared so well and were in heaven all weekend! It was so nice to chat and hang out with Lora and I know Sean thoroughly enjoyed some "guy time". James and Sean spent most of the weekend playing outside with the kids and shooting hoops. They watched a lot of basketball too, which I know Sean was happy about! We are so blessed to have these friends! We can't wait to meet their new little girl Chloe when she arrives in May!!!This picture totally cracks me up!!!! The funny thing is that Tate's recorder playing was much more annoying than Ava's, but he was the one plugging her ears!

Sean was so happy to be shooting hoops!

And this is a picture I took from the kitchen window. If you look closely, you'll see James and Sean in a heated game of HORSE and Ava and Tate sitting in the mulch, throwing it all over each other.

Tate and Ava sitting in a tree

K-I-S-S-I-N-G!!!

Tate may have been the one doing most of the kissing, but Ava wasn't putting up a fight! :)

Oh my goodness...this one is so sweet!!!

Guess what...more pictures!!!

I just can't help it...they were so fun to take pictures of! We spent the whole weekend just watching them interact and giggle and play. It was so great!

Tate sneaking a hug...

Tate might have been a little spastic for Ava at times!

Ring Around the Rosie

So cute!!!

Oh these kiddos were SO CUTE together. They had so much fun no matter what they were doing. Here they are playing in Ava's bed...

A Busy Saturday for the kiddos

After they got cleaned up for the day...

Tate ran some errands...

and when he got home, they did some work on their laptops.

As far as the parents go, we had a great day too! It was absolutely beautiful outside!!!!!!!! They guys played basketball, and Lora and I shopped. The kids managed to get in a lot of outdoor time too, playing with bubbles and meeting Lora's parents new puppy. It's a 10 week old yellow lab. It loved the kids, but the kids weren't huge fans of it. It was a pretty cute puppy though!

Then we went to Mike and Sarah's...

We got to spend a couple of hours with Mike, Sarah, Leah and Kayla. We wish it could have been longer, but Tate and Leah were tired and needed to nap. It was nice to see them though and we look forward to spending the weekend with them in a few weeks to celebrate Kayla's 1st birthday!

Thanks guys for letting us barge in on your Sunday afternoon and for feeding us lunch!!!

And this was taken about 15 minutes after we got home. Tate was depressed I think and Sean was super tired. So Tate ate a sucker while Sean slept.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

It was another beautiful day today! I decked Tate out in his green shirt and socks (though they didn't match!) for the holiday! I was able to duck out of work for a while and watch the St. Patrick's Day parade in downtown Des Moines. After work we had a nice evening...Tate was so hyper tonight! He's too funny. I will say though that he has been complaining about his ear these last few days. I'm beginning to think he may have an ear infection...ugh!

Just tonight he has started saying, "cheeeese" when I take his picture. It's so cute!

Still yearning for summer...

The swimming trunks made another appearance tonight. Tate insisted on wearing them...all night. I had to pry them off of his body before bed.

Whoa, he has talent!

Tate was so proud to show me how talented he was with his needle nose pliers. This kid knows how to work a pair of pliers. :) Ha.

Am I getting ahead of myself?

I am already super excited about the weekend ahead! It's only Monday...I don't care. We leave Friday to go to the Quad Cities to spend some time with some dear friends, The DeCooks, who we don't get the chance to see nearly often enough. We're just going to hang out and let the kids play. We can't wait!

Then, on Sunday, we will hopefully get together with Sean's brother and his wife and our nieces (Sarah and Mike, you'll be getting a call from us about that soon:)). They don't know about our visit yet, but hopefully we'll be able to work something out.

This week is going to be beautiful outside...hopefully that will carry on through this coming weekend so we can take the kids outside to play. Hopefully Lora and I will get some shopping in without the kiddos and I know we'll get a lot of chatting done! Oh I can't wait!!!
