Yikes!

We've got A LOT of work to do on our landscaping.

I wanted to document the "before" pictures so that I can show you all the difference once everything is done.

Here are the areas where I will be doing some planting..this is likely where my herbs will go...

I love that our fence has a built in planter...

And we are removing all of the current mulch and replacing it with red mulch.

We like red mulch.

We currently have the natural mulch.

Sean just went and picked up LOTS of bags of the red mulch and I'm afraid it's barely going to put a dent into what we are planning...

And this is the front.

We bought some grass seed...it was much needed.

We have several spots in our lawn with no grass, just dirt.

And there is some random plants mixed in with lots of weeds.

We need to redo lots of this randomness.

And this beautiful little section is a triangular area that was sectioned off in the front corner of our house. It looks terrible. I can't wait to make it more pretty and colorful!

So here it is.
The front of our house today.

Boring.Drab.Colorless.

I cannot wait to be able to show you the "after" photos. MY plan is to hopefully get much (if not all) of the front done on Mother's Day if the weather permits it. The grass situation is going to take some time. I wish I could just wave a magic wand and have grass in those icky dirt patches.

Sean planned to mow yesterday. Ya, that didn't happen. Apparently when you have a cheap mower in storage for 5+ years, it ruins it. The repairs would have cost almost as much as a new mower so we hopped onto Craigslist and found a fantasic deal on a mower that's only been used a couple of times from an estate sale. It's WAY better than our mower was and we paid less than if we had bought a new, cheaper model mower. So SCORE! We were pretty happy about that. Sean went and picked it up last night in Moline.

He'll be mowing the lawn this afternoon.

This weather just makes me smile.

We have Ayla for the day and night as well as all day tomorrow. She and Tate have been outside much of the day running around and blowing bubbles. We are grilling tonight and plan to have a fire in the firepit and roast some marshmallows for dessert. None for me. :( I'm sure the kids will love it though. :)

I could do without the rain in the forecast, but how about these temperatures!!! Hooray! I think spring has finally arrived!!!

I have a photoshoot of sweet Chloe for her 2 year photos! So be expecting lots of beauty to be gracing this blog in the next several posts! :)
