Today Sean had his first day of his LAST semester of nursing school! Woohoo!
So it's a task enough for Sean to go to school AND work full time. Well today, he found out he has to log an additional 80 hours this semester for his preceptorship outside of his already busy school and work schedule. Oh yippee. He was supposed to do his preceptorship in ICU since that's where he will be working before he starts anesthesia school. Unfortunately there was nothing available in any ICU's, so instead he'll be doing it in the ER at Broadlawns (the county hospital in Des Moines). To fit it in, it looks like he'll be doing a night shift on Mondays. Ugh. It'll be interesting though. He took the news quite well actually. I was surprised at his up beat attitude about the fact that he'll be doing an additional 6 hour night shift every week on top of his seemingly endless schedule. Again...he's amazing! He really enjoys his clinicals...he loves the hands on stuff and can't wait to be actually working.
