tailgating in Iowa City

Since we were all child free for the day (thank goodness for wonderful grandparents!), we all woke up at 5am to get ready to head out to Iowa City for a day of tailgating.
We've never been that perky that early before!
We were in Iowa City at 7am sharp.

This was our crew (minus me)...James, Lora and Sean.
I love of all of these people.
It was SO MUCH FUN getting to spend the day together with no kids!

This was kind of Sean's birthday celebration for this year.
He was really happy!

Lora and James.
These 2 are truly family to us...

Sean and I...

Lora and Sean were the Bagg-O champions.
They were just lucky. ;)

Lora and I dawned our cheek tattoos and were ready to go cheer on the Hawkeyes!

We had the best tailgating food!
We borrowed Cassie and Paul's fryer and deep fried wings and made homemade potato chips.
No food says football like chicken wings!
We had lots of other yummy food too.
It was all so delicious!

Of course, as expected, the Hawks KILLED the Cyclones!!!!
It was so fun being there (and being in the 12th row!) to cheer them on.
We stayed until the very end and then headed back to the car and hung out for another half hour or so before heading home.
It took about an hour to get out of IA City and we were all so exhausted.
Then we saw this semi truck...

We kind of felt like pulling up close enough to dive in to a vat of coffee and taking a swim!
We were TIRED!
It was such a great day and as every day is, a fantastic day to be a HAWKEYE!!!!!!
