It's called "popcorn brain". My mom and I both have it. You know, thoughts just pop into our brains out of no where and for me at least, they then come out of my mouth. I have been told I have no filter. I really think I do, but I guess it appears that I don't. Not that what I say is inappropriate (though sometimes I guess it might be!), I apparently just say all that I'm thinking. I just call it honesty...and openness. Ha. :)
So here it goes, I don't have a lot of things to say that go together, so this will be a "popcorn post".
It's so funny to hear certain things come out of Tate's mouth. Today he said to me after he started eating his lunch and I asked him how it tasted...
"Mommy, it is TERRIFIC!" He totally cracks me up!
Last night Sean was just getting ready to get his stuff together to go to work when his work called and said he didn't need to come in because of low census. Yay! I had never heard of such a thing, but whatever, I was totally happy. :)
I made artichoke chicken tonight...mmmmm.
Sean is most excited about dinner on Friday night...French Dips. It's his favorite thing I make. I will be taking them over to the DeCooks for dinner and we will be hanging out with them for the evening. I am SO excited! We love the DeCooks. :)
This weekend is going to be fairly busy. Fun busy, but busy. Cassie is out of town for the weekend and I am helping with the kids on Saturday along with my parents and of course Paul. However, Paul has to leave on Sunday afternoon for a business trip and Cassie isn't getting back until Monday night late, so Sean and I are bringing the kids to our house and Cassie is letting them miss school on Monday. It will be so fun. Can't wait for that! We'll plan a fun evening for them all. :)
I am in Muscatine tonight for the night. I'll head back home tomorrow. Sean's working tonight and I hate being at home all night without him. This is one of the reasons I love living so close to my mom and dad and my sister and her family. Love it!
Tate fell out of bed tonight here at my parents during a night terror. Sometimes he flails his body all over his bed during night terrors. The floor in the room he is in is tile. I was prepared and lined the floor in front of his bed with pillows in case he fell out. Whew! He is fine, but is now sleeping in "my" bed and I'll be joining him shortly.
We are meeting up with Brandon (Tate's birth father) for lunch on Wednesday. It's been a few months since we've seen him and we're looking forward to getting together with him. :)
After we get together with Brandon, we are thinking of heading back to Des Moines for a couple nights and I am going to squeeze in some people who need their hair done. It'll be fun to see some people again that I haven't seen in several weeks. We will stay in Colo with Sean's parents. Tate is excited to "play supper in Nana and Papa's basement." Huh? He keeps talking about it. I think that means he plays with their toy kitchen down there. :)
After Sean's weekend off this weekend, he has 2 weekends in a row that he will be working. This isn't common, but he took a shift for someone that happened to be on a weekend. Because of his odd schedule and the fact that I am not working, I am constantly confused as to what day it is. When Sean works the weekend, I always feel like it's the weekend on the days he's off.
When is the weather going to get nice? I am sick of the rain and cold temps! Geez!
We planned our dates we'll be heading to Florida at the end of the summer! We'll be driving down this time. Can't wait to have a family vacation! It'll be our first one alone (aside from a weekend at the waterpark in Minneapolis last year). We'll be spending lots of time with Chris and Brenda and the boys, but since they'll be working during the week, we'll have lots of quality time just the 3 of us. It'll be nice. :) Not that we wouldn't want some friends and their kids to join us!!! You know who you are! :)
And now I'm heading to bed. Good Night!
