Rough Days

We have had a rough couple days with Tate. On Thursday evening he was being such a stinker! He got a time-out in his "time-out chair" in the hallway. Within seconds after being put in time-out he had climbed out of the chair and was walking back into the kitchen. He has NEVER done this. He knows when he gets time-out that he cannot get out until we say. So we were shocked that he did that. I put him right back in his chair and explained that he was in time-out and he needed to stay there until we came to get him out. Well, about 10 seconds after I put him back in, he was out again! So back into his chair he went...this time I said, if you don't stay in time-out you're going to bed! It was only 7 pm, so I was hoping this would make him stay in his chair. Ya, wishful thinking...he got right back out! I was so surprised, he's never done anything like that before. He was being more of a stinker than he's ever been! So I tried one more time (even though I can't stand empty threats, but really didn't want to put him to bed that early) to no avail. He got right back out. So, I put him at bed, at 7 pm! This is EARLY for him...he usually goes down at 8 or 8:30 and then talks himself to sleep in his bed for at least a half hour or 45 minutes. He ended up crying and eventually talking for about an hour and a half before he went to sleep!

Then when he got a time-out yesterday, he did not get out. Hopefully that's because he knows what can happen when you get out of time-out! It's strange, prior to Thursday, he hadn't gotten a time-out for more than 2 weeks. I don't know what's gotten into him. I don't know if it's his tonsils or lack of sleep because of his sleep apnea or just his age, but I hope it stops.

This morning he was pointing at his neck saying, "owie" and acting like he couldn't eat his muffin. He was taking the tiniest bites and it took him about an hour to eat one muffin! He was SOOOOO whiny...nothing would satisfy him. He had a rough morning. I am hoping that all of this is because of his tonsils and in just a few short days we will be on the road to recovery from getting them taken out.
