a fun evening...

To our surprise, Sean didn't end up having to work the entire holiday weekend! It was so nice to get away and spend some time with family and then tonight we ended up having some new friends over for dinner. New friends who actually felt like old friends! :)

To make a loooong story short...by chance, we met Lisa and Aaron (who live only a few blocks from us) at a neighborhood gathering a couple months ago. After chatting for a while, we figured out that my parents are very close friends with Lisa's parents and we each know each other's parents and spent time with them, but had never met each other! Crazy small world! So we know TONS of the same people and have for YEARS, but somehow have never crossed paths. We decided that night that we MUST plan to get together. All the stars aligned tonight and they came over and we grilled, chatted, laughed and laughed and the kids played beautifully together. It was a lot of fun. Their daughter Kiley is a month younger than Tate and Brady is almost 3. As you can see, Kiley and Brady are gorgeous children...

We practically forgot that we even had kids for much of the time because they played so well and were off in Tate's room or the livingroom for hours just playing and playing and playing. Tate crashed immediately after they left and now that's where I'm headed!
