A patriotic party...

Lora arrived home from being gone for a week just in time to pack her family up and head over to our house for a little 4th of July party!

We had a wonderful night. It was one of those nights where my cup was overflowing. I was just loving being a mommy (not that I don't always, it was just extra strong last night) and watching the kiddos have so much fun. I was feeling that "LIFE IS GOOD" feeling, loving our friendship with the DeCooks, loving our childrens friendships and just feeling so blessed.

I purchased these fun cups for the kids and I gotta say, it's genius to create a fun cup like this because the kids CHUGGED their milks because of how fun it was!

And I made star sandwiches for the kids...

We did sparklers...Chloe and Ava LOVED them...

Tate, not so much.

Can you tell by the nervous look on his face?

This was his first and last sparkler of the night...

These two held hands the entire way down to the fireworks...SO CUTE!

The night wouldn't have been complete without ring pops and glow bracelets, which ended up being glow anklets...

I missed Lora so much this last week. I usually see and talk to her every single day, so her being gone was hard. I was so happy to get to spend the evening/night with her...

Tate wanted me to see his green tongue. I think he thought it was greener than it really was...

Tate loves Lora...he missed her so much too!

We broke out the sparklers again down at the fireworks...

It was such a fun family night. We all snuggled on a blanket and had a great time!

After the fireworks, we all headed back to our house, started a fire in the firepit, put the kids down and chatted the night away. DeCooks didn't leave until 2am!

It was so worth the tiredness I've been experiencing today. Such a great night that I know I will remember years from now. It was one of those nights that nothing extraordinary happened or was planned, but one that when Lora and I are old and our kids are gone, we will have fond memories and say, "Remember that one 4th of July when the kids were so little..."
