As many of you know, I LOVE photography. I have had a passion for it since I was in high school. When my parents finished their basement in our house, they even added a darkroom for my photography. I spent many hours in there. Well, now it's not necessary...you know, with digital cameras and all. :)
I took many photography classes in school and spent a lot of time behind the lens. I still do! And recently, I got my new camera that I have been dreaming about for years. I started having people ask me to take their pictures and saying they would pay me to do so. It got me thinking. I did a the research and made the decision several weeks ago to start my own photography business!!!
Over the past several weeks, I have taken care of all of the details and am proud to announce that as of yesterday (when I did my first, official, scheduled photo shoot) Jennie Peakin Photography is up and running!
There are a few minor details that need to be taken care of, but I plan to start scheduling the 2nd week in August when we return from Florida. Hopefully by then, I will have all of my necessary equipment in and be ready to go!
I will specialize in infants, babies, children and families. I will do on location photography.
I am trying to figure out getting an official website up and running, but have a blog set up for now.

You can create a free website at Yola.com (it's just $19.95/yr for the URL). Here's the one I just created for my friend: www.socal-handyman.net - looks pretty professional, it was super easy and only took about an hour. Or, Homestead.com has some great create-your-own website templates.
ALSO, when you're done with that, if you want I can create you a Google Local Business ad (it's the maps sections of your local search). I know the tricks to get your listing up to the top spot when people search for photography in your area(I got my mom to the top spot for real estate in her area, Ryan's insurance agency to the top spot and now I'm working on our friend's construction and handyman svc). That's free with google and you can get a lot of exposure/hits when people search for photography in your area.
Anywho... Just thought I'd let you know because I was in internet advertising for about 2 years and can definitely give you some pointers. let me know and I'm happy to help! Congrats on the new business- that's SO exciting!!!
