Tate Update

I think it's time for an update...

Tate is so much fun right now, he's either super obedient or testing his limits. A Time-Out threat can stop bad activity in a millisecond. Though it doesn't mean he won't go back to that activity a few minutes later!

Tate is taking 1 hour and a half to 2 hour nap per day. He goes down for bed around 9 and usually talks/sings himself to sleep about an hour later. We can't figure out why he doesn't go to sleep more quickly. He wakes up around 8:15a.m each morning.

Tate IS NOT a morning person. He would rather lay in bed and talk and wake up for a half hour than have us go in to get him right away. When we go in, he'll say, "NO...seeping" and roll over and cover himself up and snuggle into his bed like he might go back to sleep.

Speaking of the word "no"...it's his favorite. Not much else to say about that.

He LOVES looking up to his older cousins. Especially Bode. He's never seen a Spiderman movie, cartoon, show....anything, but Bode loves Spiderman, so Tate does too.

He loves acting like a "Thupo Hewoe!" (Super Hero). Especially when he can have blanket tied around him like a cape. He fights his stuffed Manny dolls and foam chair all the time. He always says "HIY AH!" and acts like he's fighting Sean and I too.

He is also really into sports...especially golf and lately baseball. He loves playing with balls...kicking them, throwing them. He can't catch super well, but when he's not being too spastic, he can focus and catch a ball. He has quite the arm though and Sean thinks he's going to be a great baseball player because of his aggresive swing. I don't know if that makes a great baseball player, but I have no idea, I just think it's cute.

He can identify all of his letters (some of his lower cased ones, but all of the upper cased ones) and his numbers 1 -10 as well as count 1-10 and say/sing the alphabet. He can identify all of the main shapes (circle, square, triangle, diamond, star, heart, oval) and the colors purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, white, brown, pink and black.

He loves to sing...his favorite songs are the ABC's, Jesus Loves Me, Imagination Movers Theme Song, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Theme Song and that song (I think from the 70's...maybe a Disco song) that goes "upside down...boy you turn me...inside out...and...round and round". That is my fault. Long story.

He still doesn't eat hardly any meat. He likes hotdogs and corndogs, honey ham lunch meat and chicken nuggets. Otherwise his favorites are green beans, quesadillas, grilled cheese, mac and cheese, pizza, yogurt, granola bars, waffles, pancakes and lately he's obsessed with mandarin oranges...obsessed. He LOVES water and white milk. That's all he drinks. If Sean has iced tea, he'll have some sips of it and loves it as well. :)

He loves The Incredibles, Cars, Nemo (yes...still), Monsters Inc. and both Madagascar movies. He likes the Disney shows...Imagination Movers, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Handy Manny. He plays with his Handy Manny toys and tools all the time. They are some of his favorites.

He has just recently really gotten into pretending with his cars and "guys". It's so fun to just watch him hold a "guy" in each hand and watch him make them interact. He is super into his Hotwheels cars lately. He wants to drive them all over the house.

He loves being outside...he likes playing sports and playing with bubbles outside. Also, he enjoys sidewalk chalk.

He is STILL really into coloring and drawing. He loves his coloring books and just drawing on paper.

He talks all the time.

He's not a hugger or a kisser. He will hug and kiss when he's saying goodbye or going to bed, but he isn't one who does it spontaneously. He is more quick to cuddle with Daddy than Mommy. :( He is a total Daddy's boy!

Tate IS NOT a fan of getting his picture taken. He pretty much hates getting it taken. It's nearly impossible to get him to smile for a picture these days. I usually have to catch him off guard. He absolutely will not do it when asked.

Try not to notice his dirty fingernails. I mean, how does a child get that dirty of fingernails in a matter of hours?
