I've never been one for "characters"

I always said I wouldn't be that mom who put clothes on my children that have characters on them, now Tate's favorite clothes we put on him are the ones that have, Mickey or Manny or Spiderman on them. I always said I would never put my child in light up shoes, now Tate's light up shoes are his favorite and he wears them 6 out of 7 days a week. I also said he would never have shoes with characters on them, now I find myself searching for shoes with Manny on them. Finally, never in a million years did I think I would decorate my child's room in "characters". Now...I bring you this...

We were going to do a Hawkeye room. Tate would have liked that too, but really, not as much as this Manny room. Our minds changed today when Sean's sister, Sara called us to tell us that she saw this Manny bedding. We went and looked at it and saw how inexpensive it was and realized that we could still keep his lamp, rug, painted name on his wall and several other accessories in his room that we would have not been able to keep in there and would have had to buy new if we had the black and gold Hawkey theme. So ultimately, this saved us money and made Tate happier at the same time.

Funny how the joy a parent gets from seeing their child happy will make them do things they never thought they would do before they were a parent.
